Kristine (Kris) Selander is an accomplished clinical affairs leader with more than 25 years of experience managing global clinical programs for medical device therapies. She brings expertise in trial design, execution, and regulatory strategy. Kris began her career at Guidant and Medtronic before clinical leadership roles at American Medical Systems, Inspire Medical Systems, Nevro, Francis Medical, and Cryosa. At Inspire, she directed feasibility and pivotal trials that enabled FDA approval of its first-in-class sleep apnea therapy. Her work has consistently focused on high-quality evidence generation to support regulatory approvals, payer coverage, and market adoption of innovative treatments. Kris holds master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of St. Catherine.
Orhan Soykan is an applied researcher and design engineer with extensive experience in the areas of instrumentation and medical devices. His expertise includes engineering, physics, sensors and instrumentation, modeling, programming, signal processing, data analysis and bioinformatics, medical research, clinical trial design and management, intellectual property and business development. He is currently a professor at Michigan Technological University. He leads a team of engineers and scientists who support medical device startups.
Dr. Soykan’s career took him to positions in engineering, academic as well as applied research, and business and product development at diverse organizations including the Military Electronics Industries (ASELSAN), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), NASA, and Medtronic, Inc. (serving in Minneapolis and Tokyo). He is the named inventor in 50 issued U.S. patents. His 30 peer-reviewed publications include three book chapters. Dr. Soykan holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
